5.76 x 3.6m, 15mm LED
Screenco meet manic delivery schedule for
TOTP awards
I-mag specialists, Screenco, had already delivered their
consignment of 15mm LED modules to the Manchester Evening
News Arena, to form the backdrop for the recent Top of the
Pops Awards 2002, when they received an unusual request
just 24 hours before the event.
The Manic Street Preachers wanted three vertical columns,
mounted on dollies, as a screen destination for their generic
film. While the three 800mm x 3.6m displays - spread equidistant
- remained static during the show it was imperative that they
could be moved swiftly off set at the end of the performance.
Reports Screenco project manager Steve Purkess, "This
unusual request demanded an overnight response, and I'm pleased
to say we were able to fulfil the band's wishes
with
a little help from Concept Staging, who provided the structural
support."
